BMA History:
1980: Foundation
• Maurice Hassoun Trading & Distribution Est. was established in Lebanon, laying the groundwork for future industrial ventures.
1986: Establishment of BMA Commercial & Industrial s.a.r.l.
• BMA began manufacturing solvent and water-based paints under the Italian brand Coverplast.
• Initiated the production of solvent-based paints, thinner solvent, and epoxy under the BMA brand.
1987: Strategic Partnerships
• BMA became the agent for Milesi in Lebanon, Kuwait, and Syria, expanding its influence in the region.
1990: International Expansion
• BMA began expanding its market beyond Lebanon, marking its entry into the global market.
1997: Environmental Responsibility
• BMA started producing water-based paints to reduce VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions, reflecting a commitment to environmental sustainability.
2008: Launch of Gambini Paints
• Introduction of water-based coatings under the Gambini Paints brand, further diversifying the product line.
2009: Italian Collaboration
• BMA began manufacturing solvent and water-based paints under the Italian brand Colsar, reinforcing its international collaborations.
2012: Quality Certification
• BMA achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification, validating its commitment to quality management systems.
2013: Expansion of Agency Representation
• BMA became the agent for Pulver powder coating in Syria, Lebanon, North Africa and Kuwait, broadening its product offerings and market reach.
• BMA increased its production by opening a factory in Syria.
2017: Recognition and New Partnerships
• BMA was honored with the Quality Summit New York award, recognizing its excellence in quality.
• BMA also became the agent for Esta Omega in Lebanon, expanding its portfolio (powder coating machinery).
2018: Advanced Certifications
• BMA was certified with ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems and OHSAS 18001:2007, enhancing its operational standards.
2019: Corporate Transformation
• BMA transitioned into a joint stock company, BMA Commercial & Industrial s.a.l., marking a significant corporate milestone.
2020: New Agency Representation
• BMA became the agent for Moravia in Lebanon, adding to its list of prestigious partnerships.
2021: Expansion in Lebanon
• BMA expanded its operations with new production facilities and warehouses in Halat, Lebanon.
2022: Occupational Health and Safety Certification
• BMA achieved ISO
45001:2018 certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ensuring a safer work environment.
2023: Expansion
• BMA expanded with a new facility in Zouk Mosbeh, totaling approximately 44,000 m² of production space.
• BMA’s water-based products were certified as lead-free and low-VOC by METS laboratory.
• Launched a new bucket design, enhancing the quality of its packaging materials.
2024: Global Market Reach and Brand Uplift
• BMA is now present in more than 27 countries, reflecting its global market reach.
• The company has refreshed its logo and branding to meet modern standards and introduced the new slogan “Be More Active.”
